Anyone who visits the Engadine for the first time might think that the Horn of Plenty slipped a little here in the hands of the Great Architect. The nature is so splendid, the landscape is so diverse, the glacial covered peaks, tree-covered slopes, gentle green valleys, clear mountain lakes, and idyllic villages all vie for the attention of visitors. It's therefore no coincidence that St. Moritz is the preferred summer and winter refuge of wealthy guests from around the world.
Another 170 meters above the 1,800 meter high town, where the Sun shines for over 300 days a year, the Mountain Hotel Randolins St. Moritz offers you the opportunity to observe this unique natural display from a bird's eye perspective.
In the winter, the Corviglia ski area invites you to ski and snowboard in the best conditions. If you want more, then you can also run wild right next door at the ski slopes of Corvatsch and Diavolezza. In the summer, climbers, bikers, and hikers take advantage of the opportunities here. Around the Hochtal valley, where the Inn river originates, several of the most famous peaks in the Eastern Alps tower in the sky, including the 4,000 meter high Bernina, which is where the Bernina Express got its name, which is the "slowest train in the world" thanks to the serpentine switch-backs and viaducts it travels. Another route of the Rhaetian Railway travelling between St. Moritz and Chur is an architectural masterpiece and a part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
The climate and nature are as diverse as the numerous summer recreational and sporting opportunities: Running, golf, watersports, cycling, climbing, equestrian disciplines, kite surfing, windsurfing, and sailing are popular, and numerous outfitters in the region offer courses and equipment. In the winter, all of the snow sports dominate, including cross-country skiing. Many professional athletes come to St. Moritz to prepare for competitions with high-altitude training, and the village is repeatedly the host of international winter sporting events and world championships, including the legendary Engadine Ski Marathon.
